Introduction:
Welcome Warehouse of Dublin would like to offer computer training
for parents of Students in need in the Dublin Community. The training accommodates English, Spanish and Arabic speaking parents currently. This program helps to keep the
parents of Dublin School Children informed in regards to community events and school events in which they or their children might want to participate. Basic computer skills
are taught to the
parents of students who are part of the Dublin School System.
Goal:
The goal of this program is to teach parents of Dublin School children how to “use” a computer. This includes basic tasks as follows:
• Basics of E-mail (Open, send, forward, search, insert and open attachments)
• Access Progress Book (Dublin School System grading and homework system)
• Access School Website and search for School and Dublin District Information
• Create a Microsoft Word Document
• Create a Resume
• Registering for their own e-mail Address
• Fill out potential Job Forms on the Internet.
This list is not an all inclusive list and topics will be added as needs arise.
We have had a successful pilot program in the Winter and Spring of 2010.
We would like to thank Franklin University for their support. Franklin
University was kind enough to allow us the use of their state of the art
classroom facilities.
Please check back in late August for our next class schedule.
