Free Shop — Volunteer
Our Free Shop provides clothing and household items to Dublin-area families in need. The Shop is open on the 2nd & 4th Saturday mornings of each month and one Tuesday evening each month. Duties include greeting and checking in, assisting families with selecting clothing, checking-out and bagging items, tracking inventory, and restocking shelves. Free Store volunteers should be at least 15 years of age. You can see current volunteer opportunities and sign up to volunteer on Sign-Up Genius.
Mobile Free Shops — Fulfill & Deliver Clothing Orders
We also need volunteers to fill online clothing orders at our warehouse and deliver them to Dublin school buildings. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
Storage Warehouse — Sort Donations
We sort, organize and package clothing and household donations at our Storage Warehouse in Dublin. This typically happens during weekday/daytime hours. Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age. We can schedule volunteer groups of up to 12-15 people at their convenience. Youth volunteer groups must be accompanied by adult chaperones.
Bilingual volunteers help us communicate with Spanish and Arabic-speaking families who utilize our services. We also need help translating some of our documents into Spanish and Arabic. This is a great opportunity for bilingual high-school students needing service hours.
Bed Donation Program — Mattress Delivery
Pick up and deliver new twin mattress sets to Dublin-area families in need. All deliveries are within the Dublin City School District. Our mattress sets fit easily into most vans, SUVs and pick-up trucks. You can sign up one time, or volunteer on a regular basis (once a month). Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license.
This program matches families in need of assistance for the holidays with sponsors seeking an opportunity to experience the joy of giving. Volunteers are needed in November and December to meet with families to obtain sizes and wish lists, shop for families, and deliver gifts. There are many opportunities to get involved in this wonderful outreach.
Back to School Outreach
Volunteers help sort, package and distribute school supplies to Dublin school children in need during our August Back-to-School Outreach.
Group Service Projects
- Organize a fundraiser on behalf of Welcome Warehouse
- Organize a group collection of items we need the most
- Adopt-A-Family during our November outreach for the holidays
- Help with deliveries during our Adopt-A-Family outreach
- Rally a “Socks for Jocks” competition in a tournament among teams in the area.
